Police identify victim of weather-related fatal crash in Chesapeake

Chesapeake, Va. – One person is dead after a weather-related accident occurred in Chesapeake on Friday.

Police have identified the driver as 40-year-old Charles Michael Perkins from Pasquotank County.

Chesapeake Police responded to the 700 block of South Route 17 for a report of a car that ran off of the road and hit a tree.

The vehicle was going in the southbound direction when the driver lost control.

Police believe bad weather played a part in the accident.

Medics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.

The road was closed but it has since reopened.
