Norfolk, Va. - The City of Norfolk invited its citizens to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr at the historic Attucks Theatre, on Church Street.
The venue was bathed in sound featuring music and an original performance by Teens With A Purpose.
On what would have been the late Civil Rights leaders 87th birthday, the audience reflected what King envisioned in his “I have a Dream” speech with mixed races sitting side by side, sharing a mutual purpose.
Following the ceremony, participants marched to the MLK monument on Brambleton Avenue for a wreath laying ceremony.
