Crews temporarily close portion of NC 12 after large marsh fire

Outer Banks, NC – Crews had to close a portion of NC 12 on Tuesday night after a large marsh fire broke out in the area.

This happened just two miles of Wellbone Junction.

Crews were on the scene about an hour before putting the fire out.

The road has reopened and the fire has been extinguished.

Nags Head and Roanoke Island responded to the scene.

The scene has now been cleared.

No other information has been released.
