Norfolk, Va. - The crew of the USS Normandy made it home for the holidays.
The ship pulled into Naval Station Norfolk Saturday.
The guided-missile cruiser left for an around-the-world deployment back in March.
For many, it was a difficult time spent without loved ones.
"I missed my daughter. I had been gone for six and a half months. The rest of the crew, the majority of them, did a nine month stretch and that's commendable. I don't know if I could've done that missing my little one here," said one sailor.
During its deployment, the Normandy made stops in Greece, Dubai, Singapore and Pearl Harbor.
