Indianapolis, IN.- For years, many have imagined a pill or drug that could unlock endless possibilities for humans. The CBS show, ‘Limitless’, centers around a fictional drug by the name of NZT which gives the person who takes it mind-blowing abilities and super genius intelligence. Recently, studies at Oxford University have shown that a pill such as NZT may not be completely fictional.

According to WTTV, The brain-enhancing drug known as Modafinil is approved to help with sleeping disorders and has extreme cognitive benefits. Modafinil improves planning ability, decision making, flexibility, learning, memory and more. Modafinil improves brain functions the same way a good night’s sleep would.

Dr. Cidney Bodkin prescribes this drug to her patients at the IU Methodist Sleep Disorder Clinic and praises the pill.

“If we can accomplish more with less effort on our part, just by taking a simple pill, that’s a lot easier than going to the gym and getting eight hours sleep,” said Dr. Bodkin.

While the pill has shown significant improvements for sleep disorder patients, the drug has never been tested on those who are healthy and have no reason to take it. Modafinil is also not recommended for those with heart problems or mental health issues.

Maybe someday, with more research and development, drugs will be created simply to improve the brain functions of all humans. Then, we can truly live a limitless life.
