Currituck, NC - A Currituck dentist is doing something amazing for veterans.
Patrick Morgan with Morgan Family Dentistry is offering free tooth extractions to military veterans in honor of Veteran's Day next week.
"It means a lot to say thank you because I think a lot of us take for granted the freedom that we have in this country," says Morgan.
Morgan will be offering these services on Friday. This is not just for veterans in Currituck County.
All you need to do is bring in your proof of service and a list of any medications you may be on.
The whole staff is donating time as a way to say thank you to veterans.
Because of their generous gesture, NewsChannel 3 presented Morgan with a People Taking Action Award.
He received a People Taking Action pin and a $300 Visa gift card from our community partner Southern Bank.
Morgan says they plan to buy equipment with that money.
"We're probably 45, 50 miles from the closest VA center and they're crowded, they're overworked, and they're doing the best they can and they just need some help," says Morgan. "I'm hoping they will realize people care about them and they don't get the feeling we've forgotten them."
And it's important to note Southern Bank is also taking action for our veterans by donating $2,500 to next week's Veterans Day parade in Virginia Beach.
If you would like to take advantage of these services, go to 153 Worth-Guard Road, Coinjock NC.
This event will be first come, first served. It will start at 7 a.m. and will end at 3 p.m.
Extractions will be limited to two per person and non-surgical.
