Virginia Beach, Va. –  For students at Landstown High School, last Saturday night’s homecoming was unlike anything they would have ever expected.

A gas leak and partial power outage disrupted the evening’s plans, leading to a cancellation of their annual dance.

Students, sharply dressed in their suits and dresses, made the most of their evening and gathered around the fire trucks to snap some memorable photos.

The homecoming king and queen even got to take pictures wearing firefighter helmets.

It is still unknown what caused these events and no injuries were reported.

Virginia Beach emergency crews reported that they received a call at 5:12 p.m. notifying them of a gas alarm.

Firefighters quickly responded to the matter and cleared the area by approximately 6:32 p.m.

The night turned out to be a memorable occasion that will likely find its way into this year’s yearbook.
