Everything you need to know about the premiere of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert premieres Tuesday, September 8th (11:35p/10:35c) right here on NewsChannel 3!

The former host of Comedy Central’s Colbert Report has been busy all summer preparing for his late night debut, slowly revealing more details on the highly-anticipated show. Back in June, he introduced his new band leader as New Orleans-native Jon Batiste.

Batiste and his band Stay Human appeared on the Colbert Report several times and the band is listed as the Late Show’s first musical performance during the show’s debut episode.

Speaking of appearances on the show, the guest lineup for the first two weeks of the show has already been released and it’s nothing short of impressive:

Tuesday, Sept. 8 – George Clooney, Jeb Bush, performance by Jon Batiste and his band Stay Human, with special guests

Wednesday, Sept. 9 – Scarlett Johansson, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, performance by Kendrick Lamar

Thursday, Sept. 10 – Vice President Joe Biden, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, performance by country star Toby Keith

Friday, Sept. 11 – Amy Schumer, author Stephen King, performance by Troubled Waters

Monday, Sept. 14 – Emily Blunt, Justice Stephen Breyer, performance by The Dead Weather

Tuesday, Sept. 15 – Jake Gyllenhaal, performance by Run the Jewels with TV on the Radio

Wednesday, Sept. 16 – Kevin Spacey, Carol Burnett, comedians Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, performance by Willie Nelson

Thursday, Sept. 17 – Naomi Watts, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon
