Norfolk, Va. - During heavy downpours on Wednesday evening, lightning struck an apartment in Norfolk.

The bolt hit the roof at about 6 pm at an apartment along Inchon Street, near Terminal Boulevard.

"It looked pretty bad. There's a hole in the ceiling to the bathroom," said Enrique Caltenco, who lives there. He wasn't home at the time, but can't stay there overnight.

Other areas around Hampton Roads also reported damages.

A tree fell onto a home in Portsmouth at 1900 Ansell Avenue. No one was home at the time.

Branches also came crashing down just feet from an elderly couple's home on Patrician Drive in Hampton. "We heard crackling, and stuff, and then boom," said Connie Thompson.

Luckily, no one was hurt.
