Friday’s VIPIR Forecast: A nice weekend

A nice weekend ahead… Temperatures will start in the 60s and low 70s this morning with a few spots in the 50s. Highs will return to the low and mid 80s today with relatively low humidity for this time of year. We will see a nice mix of sun and clouds with a very slim chance for a shower. Highs will remain in the mid 80s this weekend. Expect partly cloudy skies this weekend with a slim chance for a shower.

Rain chances stay low for the firs half of next week as highs nudge into the upper 80s. We are keeping a close eye on Tropical Storm Erika. If this storm turns toward the East Coast we could see impacts for the second half of next week.

Tropical Update

The center of Tropical Storm Erika is just south of the Dominican Republic. Erika is centered about 65 miles SSE of Santo Domingo, Dominica Republic. Erika is moving west-northwest at 18 mph. The general west-northwest movement is expected to continue for the next 48 hours. The center of Erika will move over the Dominican Republic this afternoon, near the Turks and Caicos Islands tonight and near the central and northwestern Bahamas Saturday. Some weakening is forecast today as Erika moves over land, followed by little change in strength through Saturday. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 150 miles to the east of the center.
