It was there that a 27-year-old woman told officers that she and the father of her children, Tyrell Jones, had been involved in an argument.

During the argument, Jones allegedly took their one-year-old son out into the street and left him there, leaving vehicles to pass by within several feet of him.

NewsChannel 3 spoke with the mother, who did not want to go on camera. She says Jones told her "I don't care about the kids," before putting their son in the street.

When the woman went to go get the boy from the street, Jones reportedly hit her several times and continued to hit her as she walked back to the house.

Jones was arrested and charged with assault and battery against a family member, and child neglect.
