Newport News, Va. – Newport News Police Department are investigating after a man was found shot early Saturday morning in the parking lot of InTown Suites.
Police say just after 3 a.m. they responded to a call for shots fired in the 11900 block of Jefferson Avenue.
Officers arrived on scene and found a 23-year-old man who had been shot several times.
Medics transported the victim to a local hospital with what was believed to be life-threatening injuries. According to medical staff at the hospital it appears the victim is expected to live.
Police say they do not have any description on any suspect but they are continuing to investigate.
