Chattanooga, Tenn.,  A Tennessee woman’s “Summer Safety Tips” video posted to her Facebook page in the wake of the recent shark attacks off the coat of the Carolinas is going viral.

The video posted by Veronica-Pooh Nash Poleate in late June has more than 6.7 million views, over 42,000 likes and nearly 224,000 shares, as of Friday afternoon.

In the video, Poleate shares her thoughts on the shark attacks and offers ways folks can avoid being bitten.

“I’m not going to the ocean, because that’s the shark’s house,” she said in the video. “The shark has the right to eat you up if you in his house. When chickens come in my house, guess what? They get ate.”

What does a black woman from Tennessee know about sharks? Please heed her advice and vacation in DollyWorld next year

    • LOL

What’s that supposed to mean? I’m from Clarksville, Tn and live here in Va. So it’s not possible that she’s never been to a coastal state or an island because she’s from Tennessee??

The irony of giving safety tips while recording video with eyes completely off of the road while driving. Lucky she didn’t get eaten by a Mac truck.

ok great advice. I just want to know with all the commercials against texting and driving what is up with all these videos while driving!! Is it not possible to do this in your home, must you be on the road to make a video!!??

  • Helen

Well I’ll agree that she shouldn’t be making a video while driving- that goes without saying. But what she has to say cracks me up- and you know what I also think she’s basically right! She made me laugh and I thank her for that. I like this woman!!

People be hating on a happy ol lady that is from a different environment than everyone else. Shame on you.

    • Helen

I really like her! ( I hope she doesn’t make any more videos while driving of course!) But she makes me laugh- in a good way and with her not at her. People who can make you laugh are the best people of all. IMO anyway. She comes across as the type who doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.

I don’t think this is ebonics… she simply has a country accent. I’ve known white folks who speak this way.

I’m sorry but even though we’ve had a few more than usual, can we please compare the statistics on the likelihood of a shark bite compared to the frequency of car accidents caused by technology distractions!!! This was really necessary while driving?!
