VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Trees fell on two separate homes, while families were inside, during Saturday's storms.

One tree completely uprooted, but only barely hit a duplex on Paris Street while a father and his two kids were inside.

"Me and the kids were playing the Xbox and heard this loud crash, and next thing you know, we look outside and there's tree everywhere we look," says Daniel Johnson, who lives at the home.

The tree did fall on a power line which left the Johnson's without electricity, but the family says the tree only hit their front stoop and knocked a few shingles from their roof.

"I mean it was really lucky," says Johnson.

About ten minutes down the road, a different Virginia Beach home on Bernice Place was not as lucky.

A backyard tree fell across Arline Kevitz' roof. One of the limbs broke a hole through her garage ceiling into her living room wall.

"With all these windows it was a huge white flash followed by a huge crash," says Kevitz. "I opened the garage, saw a big hole and a limb coming through the living room wall, it was mind boggling."

Both places will be facing some major clean-up, but fortunately, there were no injuries in either home.
