Not as hot… After the extreme heat and humidity of yesterday, today will feel like an oasis. Highs will only climb into the mid and upper 80s this afternoon, near normal. Heat index will be very minor. The storms from overnight will clear out early this morning. Skies will clear throughout the day with plenty of sunshine this afternoon. Rain chances will linger for areas south of the Albemarle Sound.
Highs will nudge into the upper 80s and low 90s to finish the work week with chances for afternoon showers and storms both Thursday and Friday. The weekend is looking cooler but with plenty of clouds and showers.
