Dominic’s VIPIR Forecast: It will feel like triple digits this afternoon

and last updated

Tracking dangerous heat....Get ready for another hot, humid day across Hampton Roads and NE North Carolina. Yesterday, we tied our record high in Norfolk.

Today, we could shatter our current record of 96, set back in 1991.

This afternoon, we're expecting highs in the upper 90s, but because of the humidity, it will feel like the triple digits! In fact, a lot of us will have heat index values between 102 and 105. However, a few inland areas could be even hotter, so take your precautions. We'll see a mix of sun and clouds today. A few evening showers and storms are possible around dinnertime as a cold front approaches from the north. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the upper 70s.

Tropical Storm Bill threatens Texas, Oklahoma with more flooding

On Wednesday, it won't be quite as hot. Highs will be in the mid and upper 80s with a pop up shower or storm possible. We're back in the 90s by Thursday with a chance of storms.

Today: Sun and Clouds. Chance of PM Showers/Storms (20-30%). Hot and humid. High temperatures in the upper 90s. It will feel like the triple digits (102-105) Winds: W 5-15 mph.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Chance of Showers/Storms (30%). Lows in the upper 70s. Winds: W 5-15 mph.

Tomorrow: Partly Sunny. Isolated Shower/Storm (20%). High temperatures in the mid and upper 80s. Winds: NE 5-10 mph.
