Newport News, Va. – Hampton Roads Transit’s TRAFFIX Program opened a second bike repair station at the Newport News Transit Center on Thursday.

Newport News Mayor McKinley Price and HRT President and CEO William Howell marked the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

The repair station will include tools for minor repairs, a bicycle pump and a stand to hold a bike while it is being worked on. HRT along with TRAFFIX recently installed another bike repair station at the MacArthur Square light rail station in Norfolk. All of HRT’s buses, ferries, and light rail trains are equipped with bike racks.
