Newport News, Va. - Police are investigating after part of a skull was found in Newport News on Tuesday.
At about 10:42 a.m. on May 19, 2015, police responded to the 300 block of 65th Street to a report that workers digging in the area had found a small portion of, what was thought to be, a human skull.
The officers contacted the Medical Examiner’s office. A representative responded to the scene and identified the found item as being part of a human skull. The skull was then taken to their facility, according to police.
It is believed the house on the property was built in the 1920s.
