Hot and stormy, then cooler and stormy.
It looks like we're going to bookend the work week with stormy weather. Expect some scattered storms popping up into the evening hours, fueled by today's heat and humidity. We aren't expecting a big outbreak of severe weather, but a few strong storms are possible.
Tuesday brings a better chance for strong-to-severe storms as a cold front collides with the hot and muggy air over us. Once again, we aren't expecting a large severe outbreak. But a few storms could intensify into the severe category, producing gusty winds and frequent lightning.
Behind that cold front, we expect more pleasant spring weather on Wednesday, with lower humidity, highs in the 70s and partly cloudy skies.
We'll keep the milder weather on Thursday and Friday, but I am introducing the chance for a stray shower or storm both days. Expect highs in the low-to-mid 70s.
Right now, the long holiday weekend is looking pretty nice, with plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Right now, I have a 20% chance for a shower or storm on Memorial Day. We'll see how that evolves over the next few days. Stay tuned.
