Virginia Beach, Va. – One person was killed during an accident involving a car and a motorcycle on I-64 westbound at the Twin Bridges, State Police say.
The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday morning on I-64 at the Twin Bridges.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Jonathan Hicks of Chesapeake and the driver of the vehicle was 37-year-old Ronnie Pruden of Virginia Beach.
A 2008 Ford Ecoline van was traveling in the westbound lanes of I-64 when traffic began to slow/stop. Police say the driver made a sudden lane change into the path of a 2004 motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle lost control, laid the motorcycle down, and was ejected.
The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene, according to police.
Charges are pending upon case review with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
