Virginia Beach, Va. (WTKR) - The Virginia Beach Police Department is investigating after possible human remains were found in a swampy area off Virginia Beach Boulevard early Saturday afternoon.

They were discovered by Wyatt Barnett when a truck his friend was driving got stuck in the mud.

"We were just out here having fun and our friend got stuck in the back so we were in the backing trying to pull him out and we found a skull," explained Barnett. "It caught our eye so we had to go out and investigate a little bit and see if we were seeing what we were seeing. "

Barnett says the remains looked to be those of a man. Police have not yet confirmed that they remains are a man's or even human. The Department's Homicide Unit is currently investigating.
