Virginia Beach, Va. (WTKR) - Crews in Virginia Beach are continuing the around-the-clock work of clearing streets covered in snow and ice.
NewsChannel 3's Todd Corillo rode along with Lamont Moore, a Public Works operator, Thursday morning as he spread a sand-salt combination along secondary streets in the Green Run area.
"They are giving us some highly concentrated material to lay down. Kind of melt the ice. I've got the spreader. Other guys come behind me with the plow. I make it easy for the plow," Moore explained.
Virginia Beach crews have been working in 12-hour shifts to keep up with all the trouble spots.
Despite the long hours, Moore says he isn't tired yet.
"No I'm good. It's fun. I want everyone to be safe. So I do what I do. Make life easy. Make my boss happy."
