Virginia Beach, Va. – A spokesperson for Virginia Beach Public Schools confirms that a portion of King’s Grant Elementary is currently without power.
The school reports the outage is affecting 17 classrooms and the cafeteria.
Cold lunches will be served in lieu of hot lunch.
A message has been sent to parents saying they can pick up children if they want. By the time crews determined it wouldn’t be an easy fix, buses were already rolling, which is why school wasn’t canceled altogether.
Power is estimated to be restored some time Friday afternoon.
