Richmond, Va. – Senate Bill 1235, which would allow the distribution and possession of cannabis oil for epilepsy patients, passed the House on Friday. It now just needs a signature from the Governor to become law.
The bill was approved with 92 yes votes, one no vote and one abstention.
The bill passed through the Senate last week.
A similar bill was introduced and passed by the House. It is now in the Senate waiting for approval.
If both bills pass and become law, the drug has an emergency clause that could make it available to families as early as April of this year.
