UPDATE: 19th Street reopens at Arctic Avenue and Pacific Avenue after gas leak

UPDATE: All roads are now open, and the scene is now clear.

Virginia Beach, Va. – A gas leak has been reported at the intersection of 19th Street and Pacific Avenue at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

The call came in at 10:54 a.m.

Authorities say a two inch gas line was cut when contractors burying utility lines accidentally hit it.

19th Street is closed at Arctic Avenue and Pacific Avenue. It will remain closed for approximately 3 hours while Virginia Natural Gas works to secure the leak.

No one has been evacuated in the area.
