If you weren't convinced winter was here... today should have changed that. Temperatures struggled to climb out of the teens this morning and never climbed over 30 degrees all day! Couple that with single-digit wind chills, and you've got yourself one cold, cold, cold winter day.

Meteorologist Dominic Brown spent the day at Virginia Beach Town Center where many people came by to snap pictures of the frozen fountain!

Aside from Cape Hatteras, the cold temps didn't break any records in our area, but we weren't far off. We were just one degree off from breaking the record in Norfolk for today, which was 13 degrees set back in 1970.

Friday morning will still be windy and cold. But with a southwesterly wind, temperatures will be steadily rising through the overnight hours. We’ll wake up to temperatures in the mid-to-upper 20s and wind chills in the teens.
