Norfolk, Va. - A homeless man is taking action to make sure others have some holiday cheer.
All Neal Shytles wanted was a family for Thanksgiving.
Well, he got that and so much more - his story touched hearts all over the world.
It was Neal's idea to give Christmas goody bags to the hundreds of other homeless men at the Union Mission Shelter. To raise money, he asked a few thousand of his new friends for help.
He posted his request for donations on the newly created Facebook page "Cards for Neal Shytles." Immediately, the money poured in.
Strangers gave more than $1,000 dollars in Walmart E-gift cards and NewsChannel 3 matched that.
