Operation Christmas List: “We hope these kids understand there are people in the community that care about them”

Posted

We have just 16 days to collect toys for Operation Christmas List! Together with our sponsors, we invite you to join us to make a difference this holiday season for children who live in area shelters.

They are getting into the spirit of the holiday season at Southern Bank. The tree is aglow with decorations in the lobby and the employees are busy decorating the drop-off boxes, inviting those who enter the lobby to drop off a toy.

“Southern Bank is all about giving to the community and helping children in need and having a letter better Christmas this time of year,” says Taylor Harrell with Southern Bank.

Southern Bank is our community partner and they’re once again going the extra mile by matching dollar for dollar if you make a cash donation to Operation Christmas List.

The goal is to make sure every child in area shelters opens a toy of their own on Christmas Day.

“Just being able to come down the stairs and look under the tree and having something there makes you feel special and you know somebody cares about you. That’s what’s important. We hope these kids understand there are people in the community that care about them,” Harrell says.
