Dinwiddie County, Va. – Does this ring look familiar to you? If so, a man who made the surprising discovery has some good news for you.
According to WTVR.com, Kevin Cobb used his metal detector to search around his girlfriend’s grandmother’s yard. He says he usually finds tin cans and bottle caps, but this time he stumbled upon something more valuable.
He found a ring that was buried eight inches in the ground. Cobb cleaned the ring up and posted a picture of it on Facebook. This post was shared over 200,000 times.
The ring appears to come from a U.S. Navy recruit training command based in Illinois. The ring has LEY engraved on the inside.
