Arrest made after man found dead outside Accomack County home

A 46-year-old man was arrested on murder charges on Saturday after a 61-year-old man was found dead outside his home in Accomack County.

Around 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning, the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a person assaulted and possibly deceased on Cold Kall Lane in Horntown.

Deputies arrived to find 61-year-old Leon Sylvester Harmon Jr. dead outside his home with wounds to his body.

During the investigation, authorities identified 46-year-old Michael Anthony Press as a suspect and warrants for First Degree Murder were obtained against him.

Press was found around 3:00 p.m. on Neal Parker Road and was taken into custody. He remains in the Accomack County Jail and was denied bond.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Harmon on Monday at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Norfolk.
