ALBEMARLE, N.C. — A student was shot at Albemarle High School early Tuesday morning. The school is about 40 miles east of Charlotte and 50 miles south of High Point.
WSOC reports that the student was shot at the school around 7:30 a.m.
Another person is in custody, officials say.
The student’s condition was not immediately available.
The school has been placed on lockdown.
Police and school officials are asking parents to head to North Albemarle Baptist Church at 401 Park Ridge Road.
