Newport News man caught, arrested after May search revealed drugs, weapon

Newport News, Va.  – A Newport News man has been charged with several drug offenses and a child abuse/neglect charge after drugs and a weapon were found during a search that occurred in May.

According to Newport News Police, Narcotics Unit Detectives went to a residence in the 100 block of Nottingham Trail on May 9th, 2014 in reference to a drug complaint.

Detectives searched the residence and found drug evidence in plain sight, as well as a firearm that was located on a shelf near a child’s Pack n’ Play crib.

Kenneth Jackson was not at the residence at the time of the search. Warrants were issued for his arrested and he was taken into custody on September 25th in the 100 block of Colony Road.

He has been charged with two drug charges, two firearms charges, and one child abuse/neglect charge.
