Capt. Scott Brown assumed command of Norfolk Naval Shipyard during a change of command ceremony on Friday, September 26th.
Brown is the 107th commander of Norfolk Naval Shipyard and relieves Capt. Mark Bridenstine, who retired from the U.S. Navy after 29 years of service.
Brown has been with the shipyard since 2013 when he reported as the Production Resources Officer. He had previously been assigned to USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), where he served as reactor officer and led the ship through a combat deployment and refueling overhaul. Other assignments include U.S. Fleet Forces Command Ship Maintenance directorate serving as Carrier Maintenance branch head and NNSY program manager.
