The Bra-ha-ha judging is in full swing! And NewsChannel 3 is taking action to help with the judging process to help women who are uninsured and underinsured get the breast screenings they need.
Seven judges, including our very own Barbara Ciara , visited the Chesapeake Conference Center and graded the entries of bras on creativity, inspiration, and humor. Many of the artists are breast cancer survivors who have members of their families who they are celebrating through art. NewsChannel 3 director Jennifer Turner submitted an entry in the business segment, labeled Taking Action Against Breast Cancer.
It’s not too late to attend the Bra-ha-ha at the Chesapeake Conference Center on Friday night beginning at 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. , you can get two tickets for $150 to support breast cancer awareness and free breast screenings. All the information is below.
Mark you calendar — NewsChannel 3 will partner with Chesapeake Regional Medical Center with a Taking Action Helpline to sign up women for free breast screenings next Thursday, October 2 beginning on NewsChannel 3 First at Four until 6 p.m. — right here on NewsChannel 3.

Tickets are on sale now for the annual Bra-ha-ha® Awards Show and Auction, Sept. 26 from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Chesapeake Conference Center.
Each year, hundreds of creative designers from across the community draw upon personal experience with breast cancer — as survivors, family members, friends of survivors, or simply as supporters of the cause — and use that inspiration to decorate a basic 38C bra.
The designs are judged by a celebrity panel in categories such as best craftsmanship, most creative, most humorous and most inspirational. Finalists are presented in the exciting and much anticipated runway fashion show.
Discounted advance tickets are available online at brahaha.org at $100 per person or $150 for a pair through Sept. 19, 2014. Tickets are $125 at the door the night of the event. For more information, call 757-312-6314 or email brahaha@chesapeakeregional.com.
Following the competition at The Bra-ha-ha® Awards Show and Auction, entries will be exhibited free for the public at Greenbrier Mall from September 29 through October 11. Last year, more than 12,000 people viewed the exhibit.
