Woman charged in Portsmouth stabbing

Portsmouth, Va. – Police are investigating a stabbing overnight in Portsmouth.

Just after 3:11 a.m., police communications received a 911 call of a stabbing in  the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue in the London Oaks Apartments Complex.

Police found the victim, a man, suffering from a stab wound to the chest,.

The victim told officers he was injured by a woman.

The victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment, the extent of his injuries is not known.

The woman was charged with malicious wounding, police say.
