Man shot in Norfolk after group tries to force their way into his home

Norfolk, Va. – A man was shot outside of his home on Kempsville Road Wednesday night after a group of people tried to force their way into his home.

Norfolk police and EMS found the man suffering from a gunshot wound shortly before midnight and transported him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what appears to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The man told police he was outside the home when a group of several black men approached him and tried to force their way inside. When they were unsuccessful someone in the group shot the man and they ran away.

There is no other description of the men at this time.
