‘Life of the Party’ leaves his own funny obituary

Pittston, Pa. WNEP) –  People across the country are talking about a Pennsylvania man who wrote his own humorous obituary that is now going viral.

Kevin McGroarty was known as the ‘life of the party’. He wrote his own obituary and peppered in words of wisdom and humor.

His obituary starts, “Kevin J. McGroarty, 53, of West Pittston, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, after battling a long fight with mediocracy.”

He ends the obituary with some smart advice: “It costs nothing to be nice” and “Never stick a steak knife in an electrical outlet.”

WNEP-TV reportsthat his friends will say goodbye to him at his funeral soon, but they don’t believe the obituary is the last they will hear from their buddy.
