Minor oil spill reported at Rudee Inlet

A minor oil spill has been reported at Rudee Inlet.

Chief Jack Crandall with the Virginia Beach Fire Department says it appears to be a very minor sheen of oil or some type of petroleum product on top of the water.

They have not been able to locate a source.

The Coast Guard has been notified and crews will continue to monitor the situation. At this time, they have cleared the scene and not deemed anything to be a hazard.
