Suffolk, Va. - 20-year-old Devonta Day traveled four hours from Maryland to Suffolk.  He told police he thought he was coming to visit an 18-year-old girl, according to court documents.

In reality, she was 13. Now, Day is charged with having sex with a minor.

The two met through an online chat website 2-3 months ago. The documents say that's when Day told officers the girl first told him she was 18.

Officers were called to Dixon Drive around 3:30am Sunday morning. It's a long street in the middle of a neighborhood.

Someone reported seeing a suspicious car parked alongside the road. The caller thought no one was inside of it.

When police got to the neighborhood, they found the car.  According to the documents, Day and the girl were inside the car, both partially naked.

When officers questioned the two, court papers say the girl lied to police and said she was 18-years-old.

Day is being held in jail without bond.

Well for one I don’t condone what hes done, but she also needs to be punished for lieing about her age, shes lucky he wasn’t a murderer or something, these parents really need to watch these kids closely on the internet..

There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between a 13 year old child and an 18 year old woman. This PIG new exactly what he was doing.

Without seeing the girl, you can’t say that he knew she wasn’t 18. Young women look physically mature sometimes long before they are of age. I know I did.

Not exactly condoning his actions, but he apparently thought he was meeting an 18 year old when he drove there – it’s not as though he was intentionally looking for a child to seduce.

The girl needs some help, is about the only thing I am certain of in this story.

I know this kid, he knows right from wrong. Its easy for you to judge him without knowing him. He’s not stupid to do something this dumb.

And to make this long story short – short
When the cop pulled me over I was scared as hell
I said, “I don’t have a license but I drive very well, officer”
I almost had a heart attack that day
Come to find out the girl was a twelve-year-old runaway
I was arrested, the car was impounded…..

It says the girl lied to the man and the police about her age, and you people are disgusting enough to blame the man,, When we’ve all seen 13 year olds looking mature than they are. Sad stuff, Although he should’ve been able to tell the difference.
