Newport News, Va. - A fugitive wanted in Hampton on murder charges was arrested after a standoff at a Newport News hotel this morning.

The Newport News police fugitive apprehension unit learned around 9am that Kwame Edwards was inside a specific room at the Extended Stay America on Hornsby Lane. In addition to the Hampton murder charge, Edwards was wanted in Newport News for assault on a family member, unauthorized use of a vehicle, brandishing and probation violation.

Police tactical units responded and after an hour and a half a woman left the room. Shortly afterward Edwards also left the room and surrendered to police.

No one was injured during the incident.

At some point the community these young men are being hidden in, MUST decide there have been enough deaths and the girlfriends, Mothers, and Grandmothers must rally together and STOP THE KILLING AND CRIME. There will NEVER be enough police, large enough jails, enough cemeteries, or enough tears for the lost potential. The police arrest picture shows us a smug young man who knows he will be back on the streets in days on bond paid for by some female in his life; spend a few months in jail after his court appointed lawyer the taxpayers paid for negotiates a short sentence because the jails are so crowded only to come out, sheltered and financially supported by a female in his life to do it all again. WOMEN UNITE AGAINST THIS WASTE OF YOUNG MEN!!!!
