Elizabeth City Police are investigating a break-in that occurred at Todd’s Pharmacy North side early Wednesday morning.

Police say they received a call from the 911 center at 5:30 a.m. about a burglar alarm at the pharmacy.

Officers located a white male walking suspiciously in the area and stopped to confront him.

He was found to have cuts on his arms and assorted pills in his pocket.

At the pharmacy, officers found that the drive-thru window had been broken to gain entry into the building. Blood was also found on the broken window.

The suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Christopher Stuart of Currituck, was interviewed and found to be responsible for the break-in.

He was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods, and misdemeanor injury to real propery after caushing $600 damage to the drive-thru window.

Stuart was found with 730 pills in his pockets, of which he thought were pills taken to help with narcotics withdrawals.

He was placed on a $10,500 bond.

The robbery comes less than three weeks after a CVS pharmacy robbery in Elizabeth City where illegal narcotics were also stolen.
