The Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center says they are bursting at the seams with stray dogs after the holiday weekend.

The shelter acts as the city’s municipal “pound” and received a large number of pets that ran away over the weekend, likely due to being scared of fireworks and other commotion.

Click here to check out their gallery of 4th of July strays. They say the gallery is not a comprehensive listing of all strays.

If you do not see your pet here, please call or come to the shelter in person to look for your pet.
