Victim identified in deadly Newport News shooting

Newport News, Va. - Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in a home on Ridley Circle in Newport News.

Police received the first call of the shooting around 12:23am. When they arrived at the home they found the body of a man lying on the kitchen floor with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.

The victim has been identified as 33 year old Jamar Sherald Clarke of the 600 block of Ridley Circle.

The suspect is believed to be a described as a dark skinned black male with a fade haircut and wearing a black shirt and a heavy set white female was with him.

He may be driving a white Ford Crown Victoria or Chevrolet with a push bumper on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Crime Line callers may remain totally anonymous, are never required to testify in court and could be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
