Police investigate late night shooting on Towne Point Rd. in Portsmouth

Portsmouth, Va. - Portsmouth police detectives are investigating a late night shooting that left one person injured.

The shooting in the 3800 block of Towne Point Road was first called in at 11:06 pm on Saturday.

When they arrived on scene, officers found an adult man suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound on his arm.

Medics transported the man to Sentara Norfolk General with non-life threatening injuries.

At this time detectives do not have a suspect or motive in this case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the crime line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers do not have to give their name or testify in court and if their tip leads to an arrest they could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
