The mascot of the Dayton Dragons, a minor league baseball team, surprised a child in a meaningful way recently.

Seven-year-old Hunter Samworth communicates through sign language. He attended a Dragons game with his family on May 24th.

Hunter asked his parents if he could meet the Dragon’s mascot, Heater. When Hunter approached, he signed “nice to meet you.”

Surprisingly, Heater signed back! As it turns out, both the man inside the mascot suit and his escort are trained sign language interpreters.

The encounter was captured on video by Hunter’s parents and uploaded to YouTube where it quickly went viral.
