Newport News, Va. – A woman is in stable condition after she was hit by a teen driver in Newport News Friday night.

Calls came in to emergency officials about the incident on Jefferson Avenue near Sam Walton Way at 9:48 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a 43-year-old woman who had been hit as she ran across the street.

A 16-year-old boy was driving a 4-door black Mazda southbound on Jefferson when he hit the woman.

The driver and two passengers were not hurt.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the woman’s actions and no charges are pending against the driver.

This crash remains under investigation.

Your title is misleading. Not that I’m surprised. Shame on you for making people think a teen was negligent and hit a woman. How about “Drunk woman runs across the street in front of a car, got hit”. Stop titling articles that don’t truly reflect the story.

I agree completely with A Coleman’s post. The article leads one to believe that the “teen driver” is at fault, when the facts show that the woman was drinking and at fault! Sensationalizing headlines to get people’s attention is why many don’t trust the press anymore. This is something FAUX News would do, not our Daily Press!

Why would you make this a misleading article? Could be a mistake, but unfortunately I think the press has free reign to sway the truth in whatever direction best fits them. For every Teen driver out there who worked hard to get you license, I salute you! To the press, your molestation of the truth will continue as long as our leadership allows it. To the people, lets vote out the Liberals who are running our country and helped created this atmosphere where it’s O.K. to be shady as long as it helps said political agenda.
