President Barack Obama spoke at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday in a memorial to honor fallen service men and women.

He also laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

“For the parents who lost a child, for the husbands and wives who have lost a partner, for the children who have lost a parent, this day and this place are solemn reminders of the extraordinary sacrifice they have made in our name,” he said.

President Obama took part in the ceremony just hours after returning from a surprise visit to Afghanistan over the weekend.

the words thank you……not enough……and for the vets who are out there suffering from an indifferent president and government… serve in many capacities, loyal and for the most part silently……and often thanklessly… are America at its best in the past present and future…….there are forces trying to destroy you from within…….they will fail……you need not ever feel lost or afraid… have already done what needed to be done and left nothing undone……you are in this one person’s small but mindful heart…..I salute you.
