Two arrested during drug bust at Roanoke Island home

Two Manteo men were arrested after a search warrant was served at a home on Roanoke Island on Thursday, May 8th.

According to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Dare County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at the home on Francis Drake Street.

Officers seized crack cocaine and marijuana that was packaged for sale, along with a quantity of cash.

Two people were arrested during the bust.

Happton Spencer JrHatten Spencer Jr., 70, was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, and Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place to keep Controlled Substance. He was committed to the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of a $25,000 bond.

Cleston Edward McMurran, 48, was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine, Cleston Edward McMurranPossession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, and Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place to keep Controlled Substance.

McMurran had additional warrants for Possession with the Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine (2 counts), Sell or Deliver Cocaine (2 counts), and Manufacture/Sell/Deliver/Possess Controlled Substance within 1,000 Feet of School. He was committed to the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
