A father recently posted this video showing him letting his 6-year-old boy take control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle at high speed while they were out riding together.

As the one-minute video begins, the boy is in the front seat with Jacob Hughes behind him as they cruise on a road somewhere in Colorado.

A video camera mounted on Hughes helmet captures the moment where Hughes gestures to his son to grab the handle bar.

Reactions to the video have been mixed, with many motorcycle enthusiasts applauding the father while others are condemning him. As several people noted, motorcycles steer by weight transfer at road speed and the father may have his foot over the rear brake.

What do you think of the video?

To larry. Typical bike rider??? No i think your sterotyping!!! Not all bikers are bad people. So check yourself before u wreck yourself!!! I ride a bike and owned one since 2007. So before u write maybe u should think first!!

Typical Harley rider? I cannot comment on that. Typical inbred yahoo unfit parent? Hellz yeah!! BINGO!!!

  • Robert Brown

That’s not typical, but I do think that the man should be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child endangerment for this. A 6-year-old has no business controlling any vehicle on the roads.

I know quite a few parents who let their kids take hold of a bike, or car and they turned out great….before you judge another parent check your own kids first. I bet this little guy has been riding bikes since he could walk. So judgmental, and quick to assume and want someone to be charged with something….get a life…this guy has one :)
