Bayport Credit Union robbed in Hampton

Hampton, Va. – Hampton police are searching for a suspect who robbed the Bayport Credit Union in Hampton on Friday morning.

It happened at 9:39 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Bayport Credit Union located in the 2300 block of Cunningham Drive.

Officers arrived on scene and found that the suspect had entered the business and gave a note to the teller demanding money.

After taking an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the business, police say the suspect walked out of the rear of the business and ran away on foot towards Medical Drive. At the time of the robbery, there were patrons inside of the business; however, there were no injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-forties, dark complexion, 5’10”-6’ and a thin build.

He was last seen wearing dark coveralls, a New York Yankees baseball hat, square-framed rimmed glasses with a small bandage on the left side of his face.
